Installation Methods
Elastomeric waterproofing can be installed using either the torch-on or hot-melt method. In the torch-on method, the membrane is applied directly onto the substrate, and a propane gas burner is used to heat the underside of the membrane, activating the bitumen adhesive. In the hot-melt method, a hot-applied adhesive or a self-adhering backing is used to apply the membrane to the substrate.
