Matters Needing Attention When Laying Waterproof Membrane

Waterproofing membrane is a commonly used waterproofing material now. Generally, there are many methods for laying waterproofing membranes. Commonly used methods include empty laying method, full sticking method, strip sticking method and point sticking method. However, these methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, and are suitable for different forms of roofing, so they need to be planned before laying.

Before laying the waterproofing membrane, we need to understand the detailed structure of the waterproofing membrane construction. The roof waterproofing project nodes are usually many and miscellaneous. Different forms, constructions and materials, different designs. Numerous nodes include: roof cornices, gutters, water drop openings, grid joints, deformation joints, pipes passing through the waterproof layer, embedded parts, access holes, floor drains, and the end caps of the waterproof layer.

Generally speaking, when choosing a waterproofing membrane laying method, priority should be given to the point bonding method, the empty laying method, and the strip bonding method. This is because the roof is affected by the deformation of the foundation, the structural load, the leveling layer and the shrinkage and deformation of the waterproof layer. If the waterproof layer and the base layer are fully adhered, the ability to adapt to the deformation will be poor, and the waterproof layer will often be damaged by pulling cracks.

The solution to this problem is to increase the elongation of the coil, reduce the structural deformation and change the paving process, which is easier and easier to do. The point bonding method, the empty laying method, the strip bonding method and other processes make the waterproof layer and the base layer detached as much as possible, and the waterproof layer has enough length to participate in the strain, which has a very good effect on solving the cracking of the waterproof layer.
