Asphalt can be mainly divided into coal tar pitch, petroleum asphalt and natural asphalt three kinds: coal tar pitch is a by-product of coking. Petroleum bitumen is the residue after distillation of crude oil. Natural asphalt is stored underground, and some form mineral layers or accumulate on the surface of the earth's crust. Asphalt is mainly used in coatings, plastics, rubber and other industries as well as paving roads.

Modified asphalt is an asphalt binder made by adding additives (modifiers) such as rubber, resin, polymer, ground rubber powder or other fillers, or by taking measures such as mild oxidation processing of asphalt to improve the performance of asphalt or asphalt mixture. The mechanism of modified asphalt has two kinds, one is to change the chemical composition of asphalt, the other is to make the modifier evenly distributed in the asphalt to form a certain space network structure.

Cold base oil is the product of diluting asphalt with diluent (gasoline, diesel, kerosene, benzene, etc.). It is mostly used at room temperature for the bottom of the waterproof project, so it is called cold bottom oil.

What is a polymer? Macromolecules, also known as large molecules, generally refer to molecules with molecular weights greater than 10,000, which are formed by hundreds of atoms linked to each other by covalent bonds.

What is a high polymer, high polymer is a polymer, is a class of relative molecular mass is usually more than 10~106 macromolecular substances, the number of atoms contained in the molecule is usually tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands or even up to millions of molecules. According to the nature and use of the material classification, polymers can be divided into plastics, rubber and fiber.

What is SBS? SBS is a thermoplastic Styrene Butadiene styrene triblock copolymer (Styrene Butadiene styrene block polymer), known as thermoplastic styrene butadiene block copolymer or thermoplastic styrene butadiene rubber, referred to as SBS.

APP is atactic polypropylene, referred to as APP, is the by-product of the production of polypropylene (isotactic polypropylene), as a viscous substance, the average molecular weight of 3000-10000, sometimes up to tens of thousands.

Synthetic rubber is a highly elastic polymer, also known as synthetic elastomer. Synthetic rubber is generally not as comprehensive as natural rubber in performance, but it has high elasticity, insulation, air tightness, oil resistance, high temperature or low temperature resistance and other properties, so it is widely used in industry and agriculture, national defense, transportation and daily life.

Recycled rubber is rubber products in the production of vulcanized corner waste as raw materials processed into a certain plasticity, can be reused rubber, referred to as recycled rubber.

The heat resistance of a material refers to the property that a substance can maintain its excellent physical and mechanical properties under the condition of heat.

Weather resistance is that materials such as coatings, construction plastics, rubber products, etc., are applied to outdoor weather tests, such as comprehensive damage caused by light, cold and heat, wind and rain, bacteria, etc., and its tolerance is called weather resistance.

Aging is the use of polymer materials in the process, due to the combined effect of heat, oxygen, water, light, microorganisms, chemical media and other environmental factors, the chemical composition and structure of polymer materials will undergo a series of changes, physical properties will also deteriorate accordingly, such as hard, sticky, brittle, discoloration, loss of strength, etc. These changes and phenomena are called aging. The essence of aging of polymer materials is the change of its physical structure or chemical structure.

Tensile strength refers to the stress in which a material produces a large uniform plastic deformation. In the tensile test, the larger tensile stress subjected to the specimen until fracture is the tensile strength, and the result is expressed in MPa.

Elongation is the percentage of the length increased by the section standard distance part and the initial length of the pattern after the fracture of the material in the tensile experiment, which is called elongation. It is denoted by the symbol δ. Elongation reflects the size of the plasticity of the material, the greater the elongation, the greater the plasticity. Elongation is also called elongation and elongation at break.
