The mandatory national standard GB18242-2000 defines elastomer-modified asphalt waterproofing materials. It is a building waterproofing membrane made of polyester tire or glass fiber mat as the tire base, styrene-butadiene-styrene SBS thermoplastic elastomer as modifier, and covered with isolation material on both sides, referred to as SBS coiled material. At the same time, the surface isolation materials are divided into three types: polyethylene film, PE film, fine sand, and mineral pellets.

When packing in paper, the total unpacked length at both ends of the cylinder should not exceed 100mm. There are signs on the packaging, and the signs must indicate the following: manufacturer's name, trademark, product mark, production date and batch number, production license number, storage and transportation precautions. "Marking" is a mandatory provision, which must be marked in accordance with the method, sequence and code specified in the national standard.
Each roll of material must be marked, and if there is no mark on the roll or the content of the mark is incomplete, it is a fake.
(2) The storage period of the coiled material under normal storage and transportation conditions is one year from the production date. Any coiled material that exceeds the storage period must be re-inspected before it can be used.
(3) The coiled material should be rolled tightly and neatly, and the inside and outside of the end face should not exceed 10mm, which is related to the requirements of the regulations to use an automatic rolling machine. It cannot be done without advanced rolling equipment and should be judged as unqualified.
(4) The tire base should be saturated, and there should be no unimpregnated streaks. It can be identified from the cross-section that fakes often reveal white traces of the tire base.
(5) Observe its color, smell its taste, touch its sense to distinguish the true and false, and observe its color, the color of the real coil is black and bright, and it is related. Because of the high-shear grinder, it has excellent running-in compatibility and no insoluble fine particles. It can be seen more clearly from the coil section. The counterfeit SBS coil has no black gloss, or there are small insoluble particles on the cross section, and the coil appears rough. Smell its taste, the real coil is basically odorless, even if it is heated with an open fire, there is only a slight smell of burning rubber. The coil made of waste rubber powder has a strong pungent smell, and the taste will be stronger if heated with an open fire. To touch it is to judge the feel. SBS coils are relatively soft and elastic, showing excellent low temperature resistance. The counterfeit one has no elasticity and is very easy to break.
(6) tire base identification, simple identification of false tire base, must have certain experience, generally from the cross-section visual inspection. Polyester tires are thicker (about 0.8mm), have high tensile strength and tear strength, are extremely difficult to tear and break, and are comparable longitudinally and laterally. The tire base has good affinity with asphalt, and it is difficult to make it layered. After the tire base is torn apart, there is only polyester fiber. The composite tire base coil is often divided into two pieces when it is torn by hand, and the ribs of the glass fiber grid are found when the tire base is torn. To really confirm the authenticity of the tire base, you can use the soluble content experiment to observe the exposed tire base to determine.
